20 South Korea Trends Profiled in Wallpaper* Magazine

The November 2010 issue of Wallpaper* Magazine, an international magazine focused on design, fashion, travel and entertainment, is on newsstands, and it profiles 10 territories around the globe with 20 reasons to visit each.

And guess what? South Korea made the cut.

I contributed a modest article about maemil (Korean buckwheat), while others contributed beefier profiles on the latest and greatest in Korean art and architecture. Apparently, Seoul City also paid a bunch to have a special “Seoul Revealed” supplement included. All in all, 10 pages of editorial and 15 more on the government’s dime. Not bad exposure for SoKo in a top travel/design mag.

You’ll have to pick up a copy for the full monty, but an online sampling of Wallpaper*’s Top 200 can be found here..

Hi there,

Thanks for the link to the Wallpaper Gallery. Didn’t care much to linger in Seoul in my past visits but now I’ll pay more attention to its design scene. Looks like it’s a really happening city now!

BTW, any progress on the Jin’s Round the Block updates? I know you’re super-busy with your KBS commitments but I was really curious about her bike journey around Korea.

Sorry if I sound like a nag! Hope things are well with you.
